May’s Breed Spotlight: Italian Greyhound
A true Greyhound in miniature, the elegant Italian Greyhound (IG) is an alert, playful, and highly affectionate toy companion. IGs are Greyhounds in miniature, more slender, but a Greyhound’s equal in grace and elegance. IGs combine the attentiveness of lapdogs with the complexity of ancient, aristocratic hounds. Bred for centuries to be doting companions and jesters, these high-stepping charmers refuse to be ignored.
This event is free for Members and included with General Admission. Please be sure to purchase your General Admission tickets for the date of the event.
The Pet Gala will feature designs from the 2024 Met Gala replicated by Pet Couturier, Anthony Rubio. For the first time, we invite you to join us for this glamorous evening.
The evening festivities will include: A 21-foot red carpet and flower wall grand entrance
Different flower wall stations where each celebrity dog will be featured and others spread out around the venue for photo opportunities during the champagne reception.
A full runway show featuring the canine stars with commentary by designers Anthony Rubio.
A full sit-down dinner at the attached Club 101 with an open bar.
From Anthony Rubio: “This is my favorite time of the year. I love to challenge myself. The designers for The Met Gala have months to create their looks for celebrities to shine on the red carpet. I have two weeks to recreate them and for dogs. When I design for my Fashion Week runway shows, it’s all my aesthetic. For The Pet Gala, I have to figure out how to translate garments worn by humans onto our four-legged stars. Humans can suffer for their fashion, but dogs will not. Their comfort and safety is my top priority. It’s a challenge I’m always up for. I thrive under the pressure.”
*Please note: -Attire: Cocktail formal -Only service dogs and invited dog models allowed -Filming will take place throughout the evening. The event is being filmed for a feature film documentary
